Our School
Our mission is to provide an excellent foundation in music instruction to students of all ages and levels. We help our students reach their goals by offering high quality music lessons and by providing our students with public performance opportunities through Recitals, Festivals, Concerts and Recordings.
Citrus Park Music School provides musical instruction to students of all ages in the Greater Tampa Bay Area. Our core efforts and focus are to provide the best educational services to our students. We provide year-round private music lesson programs that inspire students to do great in life.
We have a passion for all kinds of music ranging from Classical, Jazz, and Opera to Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop and Rock. Our students benefit from seeing our love for the art and from our personal attention to their individual needs. All of our private students receive a one-on-one customized lesson to help with both performance and theory as they progress. We help them develop a strong foundation which improves their performance in school, church, community, or a garage band! Whatever your musical goals may be, we will get you there!
Our teachers are friendly and experienced professional musicians and educators, many of whom have Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate Degrees. They love what they do and are thrilled to be sharing their wealth of knowledge with anyone with a willingness to learn.

Hi, I’m Chris, the proud Director of Citrus Park Music School. It’s an honor to lead a place where music isn’t just taught—it’s lived, shared, and celebrated every day.
Music has been a lifelong passion for me. I’m a drummer at heart and truly believe in the power of music to shape lives, build confidence, and create lasting joy. I’ve also spent years in the business world, which helps me ensure that our school runs smoothly and always puts families first.
Beyond my work, I’m a husband and a proud father to our two-year-old son. Becoming a parent has deepened my appreciation for creating safe, positive spaces where children can grow, explore, and feel supported.
At Citrus Park Music School, we believe music lessons should inspire—not overwhelm. We’re here to help each student, whether they’re picking up an instrument for the first time or chasing big musical dreams, find their rhythm and their place.

Our Company History
In 2003, when sales and marketing engineer John Kolbrich had a dream about a music school, it forever changed his life. His love of music led him to create a music school in his Orlando home. The first school was a home based studio that quickly expanded into a commercial location known as The Avalon School & Music Center (East Orlando School of Music). Based on this success, John expanded to 2 more schools in the Orlando area by 2008 (Orlando School of Music and Avalon School of Music).
In 2015 John reunited with his high school sweetheart, Marge (a Public School teacher of the Arts and Band Director) when a friend was looking to sell her popular musical school in Westchase (Tampa, FL). John and Marge jumped at the opportunity to expand their reach into the Tampa area. The purchase was completed at the beginning of 2016. Westchase Music School continues under John and Marge’s ownership and has been flourishing ever since.
In January 2017, John and Marge purchased a 5th Music school from a former teacher in Oviedo,FL (Oviedo School of Music) making them the largest privately owned music school chain in Florida. The Oviedo School was totally remodeled in 2025 and continues to grow very successfully.
In 2021 John & Marge had an inspiration to go West and build a brand new school called Daybreak School of Music located in Herriman, UT. The Daybreak school was opened in June 2022, and later that Summer they purchased a 2nd school in the area from a retiring owner in Lehi, UT. Both the Lehi School of Music and Daybreak School of Music are thriving.
In mid 2023, with the success of the Westchase Music School, they decided to open a brand new 2nd location in the Tampa Area known now as “Citrus Park Music School”. This was now their 8th school and it is rapidly expanding with additional space being added in April of 2026.
Their 9th school was opened in Oviedo, FL in August of 2025. The Homeschooler Arts Academy, Oviedo, is dedicated to the growing Home School music education space in the Oviedo area with group lessons being provided to children from ages 5 and up. As of 2026, of our Florida music schools are home school “Step Up Direct” providers. In addition to Music, the school also offers a unique “Princess Ballet & Piano” program for little girls ages 3-7.
John and Marge are excited to continually grow each school and add more locations in the future. They have a combined family of 7 grown children and soon to be 11 grandchildren. They understand the value and importance of music education in children’s lives and strive to provide the best in the areas they serve and love helping families experience the joy of music.

Lessons are available six days a week.
A one-time registration fee is $45 (due only at time of registration).
