Citrus Park MUSIC SCHOOL

our teachers

Meet the wonderful teachers and staff that serve our students everyday at Citrus Park Music School

Ms. Kayla

Instruments: Voice & Piano

Background: I have studied Voice for 11 years and piano for a year between high school and the year I have attended college. I am currently a Voice major at HCC Ybor. My goal long term is to become a college choir director.

What I like about teaching music: Music is such a powerful and passionate form of art. Music personally has changed my life and made me a better and smarter person so bringing that to younger and older generations of people feels very important in bringing the world together.

Mr. Joaquin

Instruments: Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano. Beginner Flute & Saxophone.

Background: Bilingual – English & Spanish. Mr. Joaquin is a singer and musician at Citrus Park Music School. He has his Master’s Degree in Education and over ten years of experience in teaching music education. He also performs Latin Music in local restaurants!

Ms. Shannon

Instruments: Piano, Voice

Background: Hi! I am 21 years old and originally from Miami, Florida. I started singing when I was 9 years old and began taking lessons when I was 10. I have had the privilege of attending excellent programs in the arts including Broadway Artist’s Alliance and Stagedoor Manor in NYC. I have also had the pleasure to perform at places such as Disney and Carnegie Hall, alongside a vocal choir. I have experience teaching voice and piano, where I found a great passion in being an instructor.

Mr. Yeshua

Instruments: Guitar, Drums, Bass, Piano

Background: I got my first drum set when I was six or seven years old, and ever since that day I have been absolutely infatuated with music and growing as an instrumentalist. As I got older, I became fond of guitarists like Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen and decided I wanted to play guitar. Throughout middle school and high school every afternoon was filled with YouTube videos of guitar techniques and a ton of practice and song learning. I first studied music professionally with John Michael Parris at Howard W. Blake High School of the Arts with a major in classical guitar. By my senior year I had starred in three concert performances, achieved Master Musician certification, and was awarded “Outstanding Guitar Senior” in the top of my class. Music is still a big part of my day to day life as I have been producing music under the name “Roland,” and I now teach here at Westchase/Citrus Park School of Music to share my passion for music with others, young or old.

What I love about Teaching:
I love giving an outlet to kids and teens who are interested in learning an instrument but are unable to seek out their passion in grade school due to the ever dwindling funding for the arts. Seeing kids grow up and being the one to nurture their talent is something truly special and it is very rewarding to see their progress and be the one to guide them on the path of music.

Ms. Amanda

Instruments: Voice & Piano

Background: University of Tampa music graduate, classically trained vocalist, and self-taught pianist. Section leader at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Singer-songwriter with 182 original songs in acoustic, Disney, and musical theater styles.

What I love about Teaching:
Learning music is a joyful journey guided by inspiring teachers. My passion stems from mentors who built my confidence and imagination. I strive to help others discover their potential and unique path to growth.
